On Friday around 4:10 a.m. Roanoke police were called to the Stop In in the 1700 block of Bennington Street SE to investigate a glass break alarm. When officers arrived they found evidence of a breaking and entering. The suspects had already fled the scene. While conducting that investigation, officers received another alarm call from the Gas N Shop in the 400 block of Walnut Avenue SE. There was evidence of a breaking and entering into that store as well. Investigators say it appears the cases may be related. At both stores, the suspects attempted to get money from the cash register. Anyone with information is asked to call the Roanoke Valley Crime Line at 540-344-8500.
