From the Roanoke County Police Department: On 12/15/2015 at 5:59pm two vehicles were traveling northbound on Bent Mountain Rd. At approximately the 11,000 block of Bent Mountain Rd, the first vehicle turned left onto Rocky Road. The pedestrian attempted to run across Bent Mountain Rd and the second vehicle struck him. The pedestrian is identified as Timothy Dale Meador, 54, of Roanoke County. The driver of the vehicle that struck Meador is identified as Jackson Eugene Agee, 76, of Troutville. There are no charges placed against the driver at this time. Alcohol and speed is not suspected to be a factor. Continue reading for the original release.

From Roanoke County Department On 12/15/2015 at 5:59pm, officers of Roanoke County PD were dispatched to Bent Mountain Rd at Rocky Rd in reference to a single vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.  It was reported the pedestrian struck was unresponsive.  F&R personnel arrived on scene and determined the pedestrian was deceased.  The driver of the vehicle who struck the pedestrian remained on scene and an initial police interview has been conducted.  Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors on the part of the driver.  A traffic crash investigator responded to the scene for initial preliminary investigation and the Medical Examiner’s office was notified.  The remainder of the investigation will be conducted jointly between Roanoke County PD and the Medical Examiner’s office.  At this time, there are no charges placed
