A spokesperson for the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation says passenger rail service will arrive in Roanoke on October 30, first with state officials on board and a ribbon cutting. Passenger service should begin on October 31. Kelsey Webb says Amtrak should announce a schedule for the Roanoke station and ticket pricing in the near future.
