RICHMOND, Va. (AP) _ A campaign to raise awareness about human trafficking in Virginia is adding an online component. Attorney General Mark Herring says ads will appear on mobile devices near interstate rest areas and on websites where the services of trafficking victims are often bought for prostitution or domestic work. Herring says the ads will include the warning signs of human trafficking and offer support and other services to victims. The ads will be in English, Spanish, Korean and Vietnamese. Herring’s office says human trafficking occurs in Virginia because of its location on the east coast, international air and sea ports, and large number of major interstates. Virginia has had the ninth-highest number of human trafficking cases reported to the National Human Trafficking Resource Center’s hotline this year.
