The Botetourt County Sheriff’s office seized 72 animals and fowl Tuesday, from a property on Lees Gap Road near Fincastle. The Botetourt County Animal Control was called to the property to investigate a possible neglected horse. Once on the scene, it was determined that the horse needed further attention. The other animals, many of which were in need of medical attention, were found throughout the property, house and barn. The owners agreed to sign the animals over to animal control. The animals and fowl which included 15 dogs, eight cats, 28 chickens and roosters, 11 miniature horses, nine goats and one guinea were taken to Angels of Assisi.
