Alumni of Lucy Addison High School – which closed in 1973 with the end of the segregated schools era in Roanoke – were on hand today for a groundbreaking ceremony … by this fall a steering committee hopes to raise more than 100-thousand dollars to construct a “Monument Wall” … honoring those connected to the school. The monument wall will list the names of former Addison students, faculty and staff members … it will be located in front of what is now Lucy Addison Middle School … a benefit Jazz concert will be held there tomorrow night.
