State Police have plenty of follow-up work ahead today as they try to piece together yesterday’s complex series of events that led to two shootings, both believed to involve a Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy. The latest from News/Talk 960’s Evan Jones.

Internal affairs investigators are also reviewing what happened to determine if responding troopers followed department policies and procedures.
What state police already know is having extra holiday patrols out yesterday and able to quickly respond kept a bad situation from becoming much worse.
At last word, Sergeant Matthew Brannock is recovering in the hospital. Deputy Jonathan Agee is in critical but stable condition. Roanoke Police have prepared a warrant charging Agee with fatally shooting his former wife outside the Sheetz by the Roanoke Civic Center.
