Franklin County native Gary Gilmore is a Hall of Famer at Ferrum College and with the Salem Roanoke Baseball Hall of Fame. The Coastal Carolina baseball coach won the College World Series in 2016 – but now he is in the fight of his life – battling pancreatic cancer:
