Virginia’s Latino population is growing, and as this week’s election shows, it has a growing importance in deciding who wins. Polls show about two-thirds of Virginia Latino voters went for President Obama, and many Republican strategists agree the party will have to moderate its position on immigration to gain more Hispanic voter support.
