Some Roanoke City residents concerned about noise coming from Dr Pepper Park near the Walnut Street Bridge met with officials from Sponsor Hounds – the company that schedules concerts at the park – on Friday. They were told Sponsor Hounds is working to lower the noise level this year (with more soundproofing) – and plans to reduce the number of concerts in 2016
“We have always been committed to working with our neighbors and have spent countless hours discussing solutions to their concerns over the past year. On Friday we found common ground with a group of neighbors who are willing to work with us to find those solutions,” said Sponsor Hounds vice president Elliott Broyles in a news release. He also said Dr Pepper Park stays “well within” the city’s noise ordinance with concerts scheduled to end before 9pm.
