The City of Salem is getting a Chick-fil-A. The restaurant chain has filed for permits to build in the parking lot the Kmart store on West Main Street. Melinda Payne director of planning and development says the city has been trying to get a Chick-fil-A for about six years. The new restaurant should be open by early next year.
