Firefighters are battling a brush fire near the Franklin-Roanoke County line, and the resulting smoke is noticeable in parts of southwest Roanoke County. Officials say about 20 acres were on fire Friday evening. Heavy equipment has been brought in to assist fire crews. The fire is located off Naff Road.
