A Virginia Tech political analyst says Governor McDonnell’s apology can help repair his public standing, but he cannot fully escape the damage caused by large loans he did not disclose from a wealthy campaign donor. McDonnell released the apology yesterday, saying he has repaid more than $120,000 in loans to him and his family — loans that had not been publicly disclosed. WFIR’s Evan Jones has the story.
