A pilot project anounced this morning will put ex-felons to work rehabiliating housing they can then rent at an affordable price … the first home in the “New Chapter Housing Initiative” is in northwest Roanoke … TAP and Virginia Cares will also be involved with job training and placement assistance … God’s House Baptist Church on Melrose Avenue owns the multi-apartment house that will be renovated as part of the pilot project.
