Roanoke City cut the ribbon on an upgraded playground at Smith Park near the Roanoke River Greenway this afternoon. The $180,000 playground is wheelchair-accessible and has features for children with sight and hearing impairments. The Roanoke Civitan Club raised $35,000 for the Smith Park makeover – they also chipped in for the original playground in the early ’90’s. Chris Morrill is the Roanoke City Manager:
