Roanoke Fire-EMS crews were called to the Berglund Center yesterday shortly before 12:27 p.m. When they arrived on the scene, they found smoke in the coliseum and the smell of something burning. Crews eventually located a smoldering fire in a men’s room. A heat lamp used to keep pipes from freezing had caused insulation and plywood to start burning. Damages were estimated around $2,000.
