Both Roanoke County government and the County School board want to give their employees a 2-percent raise…now it’s just a matter of finding the money. County Administrator Clay Goodman said they’ll have to study recent tax revenue receipts to see if that’s possible right now. As reported in the Roanoke Times, Goodman said the county is no longer as competitive when it comes to attracting and retaining employees because of sliding wages.
