Roanoke City Council voted unanimously this afternoon to postpone action on a proposed pay increase for themselves, effective July of 2014. The matter is now scheduled for a vote on June 3rd. The proposal calls for Council members’ pay to increase by 28.5%, from $15,560 a year to $20,000, and the mayor’s salary to rise from $20,000 to $23,000, a 15% increase.
