The plan would create a critical linkage between the trails on the Parkway and the Roanoke Valley Greenways. An Environmental Assessment for the trail plan involving the Roanoke Valley section of the Parkway is currently underway. David Anderson of the Blue Ridge Parkway’s Asheville office says it will clarify a lot of issues for local users of the trails.
An open house is scheduled for September 1st from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at the Explore Park Visitor Center. The public also can express their views by calling or mailing the Parkway’s Asheville, NC office by September 12th.
