Feeding America Southwest Virginia will benefit from Walmart’s nationwide campaign which aims to make a difference for those struggling with hunger. WFIR’s Starr Anderson has the story.
In southwest Virginia, more than 157,000 people may not know where they will find their next meal. More than 50,000 of those people are children. Now through April 25, there are three easy ways to Fight Hunger and Spark Change in southwest Virginia:
Donate at the Register: Donate to Feeding America Southwest Virginia at the register during checkout.
Buy Participating Products: Purchase participating products in Walmart stores to help provide meals for local families who struggle with hunger. For every participating product purchased at Walmart through April 25, the manufacturer will donate enough to secure one meal on behalf of local food banks. Participating companies: Campbell Soup Company , General Mills , Kellogg Company , the Kraft Heinz Company and PepsiCo
Online Acts of Support: Generate donations for Feeding America food banks by using #FightHunger on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, sharing and liking campaign posts on Facebook, showing support on Walmart.com/fighthunger and using campaign Snapchat filters in select stores. For each online act of support, Walmart will donate enough money to help secure 10 meals on behalf of Feeding America member food banks, up to $1.5 million.
