The Local Environmental Agriculture Project – or LEAP – has officially opened its food store on Patterson Avenue in Roanoke’s West End Neighborhood. The LEAP Community store will sell fresh produce, local dairy products, eggs, bread and more Wednesday through Friday.

A $2.5 million American Rescue Plan grant helped fund the purchase and renovation of the LEAP Hub building, which also features warehouse and food processing spaces, and a community room available to local residents for meetings. Maureen Best is the LEAP executive director:
