Roanoke County Police say a school bus carrying Glenvar Middle and High School students home today was involved in a minor accident shortly after leaving school. Police say the bus driver made a left turn in front of a tow truck. Damage to both vehicles is listed as minor; no students were judged to be in need of medical attention, and the bus was allowed to continue on its route.

At approximately 3:35 PM a Roanoke County school bus occupied with Glenvar Middle and High School Students was involved in a minor traffic crash shortly after leaving the school. The 2003 Bluebird bus made a left turn from Malus Dr. onto Tobey Rd. in front of a 2003 Kenworth rollback tow truck. The left front of the tow truck struck the left rear side of the bus, causing very minor damge to both vehicles. School administrative staff arrived to assist Officer Hudson in assesing any potential injuries to students and determined there was no need for medical attention. School staff will notify the parents of the involved students about the crash. After initial investigation, the bus was allowed to continue on its bus route to transport the students home. No further information is available at this time. Charges are pending completion of the invstigation on May 13.
