BEDFORD, Va. (AP) _ Authorities say no one was seriously injured in a series of accidents on the James River near Balcony Falls. The Bedford County Department of Fire and Rescue says crews rescued seven people on Monday. The department tells media outlets that a woman suffered non-life threatening injuries after she slipped and fell on rocks in the Jumping Rock area. An emergency crew rescued her by boat and took her to a hospital. Several rescue boats then went back and picked up the woman’s three friends. Crews also rescued two people who were thrown out of a canoe and a man who was thrown out of a float.
