From the Bedford County Sheriff’s office: Bedford County citizens can now sign up to receive Emergency Alerts from the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office and Bedford County Fire and Rescue Services. Alerts will be sent out simultaneously through the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office Website along with other social media links. The system will send approximately 2000 calls a minute. Sheriff Brown advises that the system is very easy to use. Last week, Sheriff Brown used the alert system to notify businesses in the Town of Bedford and Bedford County to be on the lookout out for counterfeit money.
