A task force investigation in Bedford County focused on internet crimes against children led to the arrest of 26-year-old Angelo Paderes in Georgia on Monday. Investigators had been notified that Paderes had traveled to Bedford County the day before – attempting to meet with a 14-year-old juvenile. That attempt included forcing a woman and her 2-year-old child to drive with him from North Carolina to Virginia. Paderes took the child – who was later rescued unharmed. He’s in a Georgia jail awaiting transfer to Virginia.
