From Roanoke County Police: UPDATE – 1:30 PM Both northbound lanes of Brambleton Avenue are now open. AEP is working on restoring the lines and any power outages that may have occurred in the area.
Earlier: An accident in the 3500 block of Brambleton Avenue, northbound lane between Manassas and Custis streets, is affecting traffic. Both northbound lanes are blocked. Traffic is being detoured down Manassas Street. At approximately 10:45 a.m., a vehicle traveling southbound crossed into the northbound lane, striking a telephone pole. Live wires from the pole are now hanging low to the ground. The driver was not injured. Police are asking drivers to avoid the area, if possible. Lanes may be closed for several hours. Updates will be provided as they become available.
