Griffith gains fourth term in 9th District, says jobs remain top priority

9th District Congressman Morgan Griffith is heading back to Washington, and he hopes to help reverse the recent loss of many coal-related jobs in his district. Griffith easily turned back a challenge from Democrat Derek Kitts and will serve his fourth term at the capital. WFIR’s Evan Jones has more:

Kitts garnered less than 30% of the vote, but he tells us his campaign “did the right things for the right reasons”:

Kitts said he hopes his unsuccessful campaign pushed Griffith to work harder on issues like infrastructure improvement and opioid abuse.
