The case involves stormwater runoff in Fairfax County, and the ruling says the EPA exceeded its authority in attempting to regulate water as a pollutant.  WFIR’s Bob Clark reports.

D-DayAn important decision on the future of the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford is expected in March.  The D-Day Memorial expects to learn if it might become part of the National Park Service. Officials say they are operating as though it will not happen and have put into effect plans to go it alone. WFIR’s Bob Clark has the story.

A Hollins area resident and businessman is seeking a seat on the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors. Mike Bailey announced Wednesday he will run for the Hollins Magisterial District seat held by Richard Flora, who is retiring. Bailey is a long-time insurance company owner. WFIR’s Bob Clark has the story.

 

A Virginia Tech student concludes that humidity plays in an important role in flu’s greater prevalence during the winter months. A Tech associate professor was looking for the reason why her children seem to always contract the flu during the winter season. WFIR’s Bob Clark has the story.
