This is the latest news release from Roanoke County Public Schools: “Earlier this morning, we were made aware of social media posts indicating rumors of a threat of an incident at Northside HS this morning. Out of an abundance of caution, we have an increased police presence and extra staff at the school today and tomorrow. Roanoke County Police has determined that there was NO validity to the threats. The school day at Northside is continuing as normal with teaching and learning. We thank the Roanoke Co. Police for their investigation. We thank parents for their understanding today as we continue to teach our students. We want to let parents know that absences will be treated as they would on any other normal school day.”
