Roanoke Rescue Mission C-E-O Joy Sylvester-Johnson read from a prepared statement today about something she said was really “old news” – saying she will retire early next year. After media reports surfaced this week Sylvester-Johnson decided to make a statement. A a search committee hopes to have a replacement named by this fall. Sylvester-Johnson (65) said today she has “the best job in the world.”
