Freeda Carthcart is making another run for elective office, this time a second campaign for Roanoke City Council. The official announcement is scheduled for Thursday morning. Cathcart ran against Chris Head for delegate in 2011 and for City Council two years ago. She will run in next month’s Democratic primary focusing on creating opportunities for better-paying jobs.

Freeda Cathcart is running for Roanoke City Council to work on creating opportunities for better paying jobs. Her business skills and experience will benefit Roanoke City government while providing a valuable perspective to Roanoke City Council. Freeda knows the importance of Roanoke City Council working with the local schools, Virginia Western Community College, the Roanoke Higher Education Center and local industries to make sure our children have the skills they need to be prepared to enter the work force. Freeda is committed to protecting and promoting Roanoke’s quality of life. She will work with neighborhood associations and civic groups to continue to improve Roanoke’s many amenities.
