ROANOKE, Va. (AP) _ John P. Fishwick Jr. has been sworn in as U.S. attorney for the Western District of Virginia. The swearing-in ceremony was held on Monday at the federal courthouse in Roanoke. U.S. District Court Chief Judge Glen Conrad administered the oath of office. Fishwick’s appointment will be commemorated at a public investiture in January. The 58-year-old Roanoke resident had been a partner in the Virginia law firm of LichensteinFishwick and its predecessors since 1996. He graduated from Washington and Lee University’s law school in 1983 and clerked for the late U.S. District Judge James C. Turk from 1983 to 1984.
