The Federal Aviation Administration recently conducted its annual airfield safety inspection at the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport. The FAA’s airport certification and safety inspector found zero violations and commended airport staff for effective day-to-day operations. The FAA inspection reviews an airport’s compliance with Federal Aviation Regulation Part 139 which includes airfield operations, pavement and signage, lighting, markings, inspection reports, fueling operations, and emergency response and preparedness.
