The City of Roanoke is rolling out the Hope and Home task force today, what City Manager Valmarie Turner says will be an 18 month effort, after local residents and other stakeholders – including research support from Virginia Tech – put together a list of recommendations to City Council on the homelessness issue. At a City Council briefing this morning, Turner called the homelessness issue a “complex problem.”
Roanoke Mayor Joe Cobb will lay out more details about the proposed Hope and Home task force at a news conference later today
