Governor Glenn Youngkin went before the House Appropriations and Senate Finance and Appropriations committees this morning to roll out budget amendments including one that calls for the elimination of the Commonwealth’s car tax. Youngkin says his budget looks to help Virginians by instituting what he calls a ‘ Working Class Car Tax Credit.’
Youngkin says the tax credit will covered for the first three years with a 1 point 1 billion dollar deposit into a car tax relief fund using this year’s budget surplus. We will have more coverage of the Governor’s budget amendments tomorrow morning.
