More that a dozen members of Virginia’s House of Delegates are asking for federal assistance to improve Interstate 81. WDBJ7 reports Delegate Chris Hurst held a town hall for his constituents at the Blacksburg library this weekend, and I-81 was one of his top priorities. Solutions to congestion on the highway might include a third lane for the most congested spots, restrictions for tractor trailers in the right lane, or a possible truck toll to fund the improvements. Hurst tells the station “We need to look at solutions that require money and don’t require money, because there might be effective options other than having massive construction sites.”
