Local law enforcement agencies and several prevention groups got together this morning to make a point: don’t drink to excess and drive over the holidays. Increased attention to the issue and more sobriety checkpoints have sharply reduced the number of alcohol-related crashes in recent years – down 60 percent in Roanoke City since 2008 … down 42 percent in Roanoke County.
