The former Virginia Museum of Transportation in Wasena – on the Roanoke River Greenway – may yet come to life. Anstey Holdings told City Council today that it wants to restore the building exterior to its original train depot design. The interior would become a tasting room and include space for a coffee shop, plus kayak and bike rentals. High insurance rates scuttled previous plans by the East Coasters bike shop to move there. A public hearing will be held at the August 18th City Council meeting … the building has been vacant since 1985.
