STATE POLICE UPDATE: Per the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, the missing juvenile has been safely located and Richards taken into custody. The Virginia AMBER Alert is CANCELLED.

PREVIOUS: The Virginia State Police has issued an AMBER Alert on behalf of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office for a child abduction that occurred around 11 pm last night. The child is believed to be in extreme danger — Abducted is Selena Jah’nyrah Fernandez was abducted. The 17-year-old girl is described as Hispanic with black hair, brown eyes, 5-foot-1 inches tall, weighing 160 lbs. She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and black pants. The girl is believed to have been abducted by Rodney Richards – a black man with black hair, brown eyes, 5 foot 10 inches tall, weighing 230 lbs. wearing a blue hoodie and black jeans. He was last seen driving a white 4 door Honda sedan.

Christopher Kimberling

Roanoke County Police say the suspect in an explosives case last week has turned himself in. Christopher Kimberling, 31,  was sought on multiple charges including possession or use of a firebomb or explosive material or devices. The charges stem from the discovery of explosives at the Villages of Garst Creek apartments. Investigators believe Kimberling could have been trying to put those together with other materials that were found in the safe to make a bomb.

(update) Fire and EMS crews responded this morning to a fire at Mac and Bob’s Restaurant. Salem Fire & EMS now says it was accidental in nature, caused by an electrical malfunction just inside the front entrance. The damage estimate is 10,000 dollars. This comes after the restaurant made the news for closing twice in two weeks after employees there tested positive for COVID-19. It took about an hour to bring the fire under control.

Fire and EMS crews are currently responding to a fire at Mac and Bob’s Restaurant in Salem. No further details have been released. This comes after the restaurant made the news for closing twice in two weeks after employees there tested positive for COVID-19.
