A Virginia state commission is seeking public feedback on a dementia care plan for seniors.  With the rate of Alzheimer’s on the rise, state officials are looking for better ways to diagnose, care for and inform residents about dementia. WFIR’s Bob Clark Reports.

St. Francis Service Dogs Photo

The Dog Days are here for the Valley — Saturday’s 7th annual DogtoberFest. The event benefits St.Francis Service Dogs, which expects 4,000 visitors and 1,500 dogs to participate. DogtoberFest is held at 8232 Enon Drive in Roanoke County and is tomorrow from 10 to 4. Details from WFIR’s Bob Clark.

Chief Ray Lavinder
