Election officials across the state are getting ready for this year’s general election and finding there’s some confusion on the date. More from WFIR’s Evan Jones.

The answer is no, because elections fall on the first Tuesday after the first Monday, so this year, that means Tuesday, November 8th.
There are a couple of other important dates to keep in mind: the deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is Tuesday, November 1. They must be returned by mail by election night. If you want to absentee vote in person, your last day to do so is this Saturday, November 5th.
