RICHMOND, Va. (AP) _ Gov. Terry McAuliffe says his proposed budget will include educational investments designed to strengthen the state’s cybersecurity industry. The Democratic governor says his proposed two-year state spending plan will include funding for scholarships for students who agree to serve two years of public service in the cybersecurity workforce after graduation. He says his budget will also include money to boost the number of Centers for Academic Excellence in the state. Those centers are certified colleges and universities that meet national standards for cybersecurity training. McAuliffe says cybersecurity education is a key component to building the new Virginia economy. The governor will formally roll out his proposed spending plan on Dec. 17.
