Roanoke Fire EMS recommends Clearing Clutter to Ensure walkways are free from objects like shoes, electrical cords, and loose
rugs. Improve Lighting in high-risk areas, especially staircases and entryways.
Install Handrails and Grab Bars: in staircases and bathrooms to provide extra stability and support.
Wear Proper Footwear: Shoes that fit well with non-slip soles to aid in preventing joint fatigue when standing and walking.
And Stay Active: Engaging in exercises that improve strength and balance, such as yoga.
