Appalachian Power says crews are ready for the possibility of power outages during the winter storm. The company say today’s snow is expected to be dry and fluffy because of cold temperatures, and it’s not expected to cause widespread outages. However, the cold temperatures combined with significant snow accumulation could cause difficult travel and restoration conditions in instances where outages occur. If outages in some areas become more than local crews can handle, crews from less affected areas will come in and help. If outages become considerably more widespread than expected, additional workers may be brought in from outside the company’s service area. You can see any current outages by clicking here.
