Appalachian Power will spend $40 million to replace 36 miles of line. The power company is planning to replace the wire on a 500 kilovolt transmission line that runs from Cloverdale to just outside Lexington. Spokesman Todd Burns says crews plan to start the replacement project in the spring of next year. It should be complete in 2016. For those who live along the replacement route, company officials will answer questions about the project a week from today from 5-8 p.m. at James River High School.
