A tornado watch is in effect for the entire Roanoke Valley until 4:00 pm. Monday. A watch means conditions are favorable for formation of such storms. And a line of severe weather is expected to roll across Virginia Monday afternoon. As News/Talk 960’s Evan Jones reports, these storms are arriving right on schedule.

Dr. Brenda Davy, an associate professor in the Department of Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise, says they’re looking for people between 50 and 69 who don’t smoke and don’t exercise regularly. It would mean sessions with a personal trainer in Roanoke twice a week for three months. The idea is to see whether increased muscle strength might improve how the body handles glucose.
Roanoke County Schools will remain accredited as a school system, the result of an outside evaulation team’s visit this week. News/Talk 960’s Evan Jones has the story.
