It’s become an annual event — a weekend of passenger train excursions out of Roanoke each fall. They are scheduled this year on November 5th and 6th and serve as an important fund-raiser for the National Railway Historical Society’s Roanoke Chapter.
The Saturday trip is a new destination, taking riders to Abingdon and back. Then on Sunday, it’s back to what’s become a perennial favorite — Bluefield.

A former Salem new car dealership has a new purpose, and as of today, it’s bringing new life to the lot and showroom by selling electric vehicles. Most are intended for off-street use, a growing field for electric vehicle sales. WFIR’s Evan Jones has the story.

Most occurred in Raleigh Court, Grandin Village and South Roanoke, but there are two others in northeast Roanoke. Police say there are no arrests so far, and they hope someone can provide information that can lead to arrests for the burglaries.
