Bedford County deputies are searching for a man after he reportedly exposed himself to a girl on Butterfly Lane in Stewartsville and asked her to get in his van. A dispatcher says the girl was running up the road screaming for help. She tells deputies she had gotten off the school bus yesterday afternoon and was walking home when the incident happened.

Roanoke County Police are looking for the suspect who attempted to rob the Burger King on Williamson Road. Authorities say he entered through the back door last night around 11 and pointed a gun at employees, demanding money. He’s described as a black man wearing black pants, black jackets and a ski mask.

From Virginia State Police: Virginia State Police Trooper M. C. Forbes is investigating a two vehicle crash involving a motorcycle which resulted in a fatality.  The crash occurred at 1:30 p.m. on Route 56 just north of Lodge Trail in Rockbridge County. A 2002 Honda CBR F4 motorcycle was traveling south on Route 56, when the motorcycle crossed the center line and struck a 2013 GMC Terrain. The 2002 Honda was driven by Paul F. Rosa, 44, of E. McKeesport, Pa.  Mr. Rosa was wearing helmet and died at the scene. The GMC was driven by Daniel A. Laudick, 29, of Cedar Falls, Ia.  Mr. Laudick was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.

It’s about the Latino community coming out to celebrate their heritage — but its also held to share traditions and culture with all of Roanoke. Police are looking for two suspects after last month’s burglary at a northwest Roanoke AT&T store. Officers went to the business on Valley View Boulevard after an alarm sounded off and found that the backdoor’s hinges had been removed. Both seem to be around 5’7″ to 5’9″ with an approximate weight of 145 lbs. Anyone with information can call the tip line at 540-344-8500. Security footage captured images of the two suspects below.

A Roanoke woman and her mother are suing Golden Corral for mistreating their family during a meal. WFIR reported last month that Leah Williams posted on her Facebook page the restaurant staff had accused her mother Phyllis Williams of stealing food and banned them from the property. The owner of the Roanoke location apologized and said the incident was not handled properly. Leah Williams filed the suit Tuesday for defamation, inflicting emotional distress and negligence.

The Roanoke City Jail faces criticism for the six inmate deaths that have occurred in the last two years. The Roanoke Peoples Power Network organized a rally yesterday evening in front of the jail facility calling for change to prevent in-custody deaths, particularly suicide. The most recent incident occurred earlier this month when deputies discovered 35-year-old Joshua Jones hanging from a bed sheet in his cell.

President Trump’s role in the White House may be influencing Virginia voters. Overall, 39 percent of voters say he is a factor in their choice for governor this year and 28 percent say he is a major factor. That’s according to the second part of a poll released this morning by the Wason Center at Christopher Newport University. The findings show more Democrats are motivated by Trump to vote — while 72 percent of Republican Ed Gillespie voters say Trump is not a factor.
