Roanoke Police Chief Chris Perkins wants his officers be more than just enforcers, even though that remains a necessary part of the job. He has now spent alost seven months at the top, first as acting chief before his appointment in October. The “gun-show loophole” was a hot topic in Richmond Thursday. News/Talk 960’s Timothy Martin reports on a group that wants the loophole closed:The Mount Pleasant First Aid Crew is no more, disbanding because they no longer had enough volunteers to handle emergency calls. Paid professional staff will now handle all rescue calls in that part of Roanoke County.
