Happy’s Flea Market bills itself as “one of the largest tourist attractions in Roanoke and Southwest Virginia,” … but not for the foreseeable future after being shut down today. Roanoke City’s code enforcement division listed more than a dozen violations when posting a “notice of unsafe structure” – asking all vendors to leave the premises with their merchandise as of 5-pm today … unsupported structural beams, rooms filled with combustible materials, numerous electrical system hazards and significant roof leakage were among the issues cited.
